Friday to Sunday this week saw the OSR scouts attend Brockmead scout campsite, it was a little wet whilst the scouts put up their tents but that went off and we managed to cook dinner and then play a wide game before hot chocolate and bed. It was damp during the night but we all woke up to a lovely day and full of activities such as crate stacking, tomahawk throwing and tunnelling before lunch. A cooked breakfast and dinner on alterfires and an hour of grass sledging. The evening we held a campfire with 5th Bristol scouts and cubs plus s’mores and hot chocolate before bed. It absolutely tipped down during the night but after waking and cooking in the beast tent the weather brightened up and scouts did a quiz, camp gadgets, axe/ knife/ saw and made a buffet lunch before taking down dry tents and packing everything away. The weekend had the scouts in 3 teams- France, Germany and Spain competing against each other, cooking foods from the countries and quizzing on their country. The winners were Spain with Germany second and France 3rd. Great weekend, we all ate too much and had lots of fun and games. Well done all. Lots of outdoor challenge sections ticked off. Big congrats to Mike for passing his nights away permit and for all the organisation and planning BRAVO. Comments are closed.
