Today was uniformed groups church parade at St. Michaels Church on the green. The service was run by the brownies and the theme was Jesus being crucified and rose from his tomb. Good job all including the colour guard. To celebrate the end of a very busy spring term the OSR scouts entered the international Jambowlree again for the 3rd year. 27 scouts and 6 leaders tried their best to be lucky enough to get a score worthy of inclusion in the team and even though not all scored high enough one thing was for sure everyone had a great evening bowling and then food and drinks to finish the evening off. The leaders hope everyone has a good Easter break and recharge their batteries for a very busy summer term Mad Science can to visit the Beavers on Monday. Our budding scientists mixed chemicals, made slime and had great fun watching things explode. Tonight Kathryn has organised a Mothers Day pamper evening with stall holders coming from as far away as Taunton to pamper our mums, we have a licence to sell prosecco and the scouts have stalls to look after and tables to clear etc as part of their fundraising Activity badge. We had a good evening with £200 raised for our future camp. A BIG well done to Kathryn for all her hard work organising and I luckily escaped with my eyebrows intact. Good job by all the scouts their good manners and helpfulness was commented on by lots of stall members and visitors to OSR. |
