So a few weeks ago each of the patrols sat and planned a 2 course meal and tonight the time had come to start cooking. All the patrols had been out and bought the ingredients and stored it for the big day. Interestingly we only had one starter and that was the Hawks patrol, the main courses were delicious with a stir fry, risotto, pesto pasta and 2 different spaghetti bolognaises for the judges to sample. The deserts were of course.... pancakes. Great evening and big round of applause for the scouts, the food was great and after a frantic few minutes cleaning up we all went home with full bellies. Tonight at the old school rooms the osr scouts raised £413 with the help of local stall holders, parents, friends and leaders. The evening was busy but we all had fun whilst guessing the teddies name, trying to workout how many sweets were in the box, Candles, Glasses, Knitted items, Jewellery and much much more. Great BIG thank you to Andrew for organising the evening, to all the stall holders and parents but most of all the scout who worked on stalls, helped people and kept the osr clean and tidy. Big well done to the 17 scouts from OSR troop for attending the Remembrance Day parade in Stoke Gifford this morning, it was a great gathering and all the scouts looked very smart with ironed neckers and shirts plus school trousers and shoes. Well done all. I know several of our scouts were at sporting events and so would have remembered the fallen before the games started. By attending this counts towards the Poppy badge which we all wear with pride Its nearly Christmas...... again, and what better than a cake made by your loving scout. Janet organised the session and was watching the scouts to see teamwork and skill for the county cooking competition in February. All the patrols did well and the finished product which will be taken away and cooked and returned in a few weeks for the session with Janet and Jane to decorate ready for the festive period. |
