So this year as many previous the Old School Rooms Scouts in Stoke Gifford support the RBL with their Poppy fundraising for 2019. The launch at Parkway train station where the ribbon is cut and then with the display and collections at Sainsbury’s in Stoke Gifford.
So tonight for a bit of fun 11 of the OSR Scouts tried their problem solving skills at The Bristol Escape Rooms. Locked in Blackbeard’s Dungeon for 60 minutes ! The year is 1718 and the motley crew are locked in Black beards dungeon surrounded by clues. Can they work as a team and escape?
Today was Jamboree on the Internet at Woodhouse Park where OSRs scouts had a fantastic day not only talking with scouts from all over the world but also electronics, communications, crafts, cooking, talking on the airwaves with Avon Scout Radio as well as hi ropes, Jacobs ladder, tomahawk throwing, abseiling, climbing, crate stacking, archery and having fun, fun, fun!
This is fabulous value for money and lasts for 8 hours.
Brian and John from the Stoke Gifford branch of the Royal British Legion attended the Old School Rooms Troop to get the Poppy badge started for this year. Then the scouts designed a poppy badge which they’re tasked with making And wearing on the Remembrance Day parade.
The troop will be involved in the poppy launch on 25/10 and helping the RBL with their collection days at Sainsburys
