The Scouts had a fun evening attempting to use Hoops - some of them were better than others, but they all got stuck in This is the annual South Glos council initiative for groups to join in and clean up their area’s. The council supply all the equipment, bags and gloves etc.
This is our second year taking part and we walked the 3 main parks in Stoke Gifford and picked up litter. 12 scouts braved the rain showers and it has to be said that the parks were in cleaner state than last year, although we did fill 4 black bin bags with various rubbish!! 3 hours of litter collecting was enough due to the weather conditions, contributing towards the community challenge award and environmental partnership award. Well done to all First night back after Easter break and we had 2 investiture (Nathan and Mathew), then it was onto the games night. We had inter patrol competition with Pool, Table tennis, table football, darts and air hockey. The eventual winners were Kestrels with Hawks and Falcons close second and Eagles fourth. Thank you to Dave and Tom who came in to help at late notice, also George and Scott. Well done to all the scouts for taking part.
After a very busy term the reward for all their hard work was a round of Crazy Golf at Hambrook, Bristol, 18 holes with water hazards and rafts!
The scouts had a great time, thank you to George for organising and running the session for us. There was a Starbucks coffee shop inside so the leaders were happy too, with views across the whole course so we could keep an eye out! |
