Old school rooms scouts in Stoke Gifford weekly challenge this week was to design/ build and play a 3 hole crazy golf course. At the start of tonight’s zoom session we shared various videos of the scouts playing golf and spoke about how they came up with the ideas and layouts.
Then we completed a Kahoot quiz on Golf we started the second session with a cryptic quiz on chocolate and sweets which got all the brains working.
Finally next weeks challenge to build a toilet roll super hero or villain.

So this week there was no weekly challenge but tonight all the OSR Scouts were sent a photo scavenger hunt list of 34 items and given until the zoom session at 7pm to take photographs of each item and upload them to the leaders for verification. 15 scouts took part some as individuals with family and some in small teams (socially distancing of course). The photos below were just a few. Then they uploaded their answer sheets once on the zoom session.
They took it in turns to talk about their scavenger hunt and what they enjoyed the most, what item was the toughest to find etc.

Then whilst the leaders marked and recorded the winners the scouts played a Kahoot quiz on general knowledge.

Today saw the scouts and cubs from the Old School Rooms in Stoke Gifford join forces to hold a Minecraft Challenge Day. The private server was used to keep the session safe and players were creating bases, platforms, hideouts and making armour. We had a few challenges before playing a manhunt wide game. Finally some free time to make and perfect their own fortresses, castles and lodges. Great job all. Lots of fun.

Last evenings zoom session saw OSR Scouts showing off their musical instruments and of course proving that they worked by playing them to the rest of the troop. We had pan pipes, drums, finger piano, shakers, guitars and many more. This was the weekly challenge and the scouts all had fun making and playing them.
We also played a Kahoot quiz on high school Musical! Which was won by Megan Amy and Ollie. The rest of the session was spent organising this weekends Minecraft event. GJ all it was great seeing you all again this week. Take care.
