Gold Chief Scouts Award for 3 OSR Scouts this evening presented by Avon Scouts County Commissioner29/3/2023
Tonight at Ninja Warrior we were joined by Clive Sandrey the acting County Commissioner for Avon Scouts and Paul Smith the GSL. Clive made the presentation of the Gold Chief Scouts Award to Charlotte, Charlie and Leuan for 4 years of hard work completing all 9 challenge awards at least 6 activity badges and 8 nights away. The 3 scouts had 58 nights away and 57 activity badges between them. The scouts then went and cut their cake and had some time to chat with the leaders about their future and options. Big Congratulations to all 3. Tonight for the end of another busy term the OSR scouts attended the new ish Ninja Warrior centre at Cribbs Causeway. A 2 hour session saw the scouts climbing, jumping, bouncing and much much more but only after the safety briefing. It was exhausting just watching them and as it was tipping down outside we were all glad we were inside. Pictures are limited but the scouts had a lot of fun. Yesterday in what can only be described as changeable weather members of the Osr scout troop walked around the parks in Stoke Gifford and carried out a litter pick as part of the Big Clean run by south Gloucestershire council. Armed with gloves, pickers, bags and hoops we walked around the Trust hall park and collected 1 completely full bin bag. Then made our way to Meade Park where we again filled a bin bag before stopping for a picnic lunch and some leisure time on the equipment before walking back to the OSR and then home. Lots of fun. Lots of chatting but most of all another community project done! So tonight the troop members met up over in Wales to walk across the Severn bridge and back, 5 miles and although the weather forecast was for rain and wind it was quite different. The scouts and parents had 2 hours of being able to talk non stop as we walked in a very mild breeze with drizzle for 15 minutes then it dried up. Great chatting to parents, fab walk. Plenty of fresh air. Good job all |
