Tonight’s OSR Scouts session on zoom saw the scouts and leaders taking part in a wacky scavenger hunt in their own houses. There were four Rounds each containing five Missions. The participants each had to complete the 5 missions collecting items and then displaying everything in a photograph. It was mayhem as everyone ran around their houses picking items up or sorting things out and finally before the 10 minutes were up getting a photo for verification and sending it to the controller for checking and putting on the website. The Rounds got wackier and the items more difficult but there was a lot of laughter especially from the leaders watching. Not all could take photos but joined in anyway. Great job all and great to see those that could make it for the session.
Another zoom session for OSR Scout troop. This weeks challenge was to make a dream catcher. Some fab examples from the scouts but the leaders didn’t receive their kits ordered online in time. When they arrive they’ve promised to make them.
Next was Name my animal, 10 clues from each scout and some great clues. Most animals were identified and we all had fun guessing. In the end we had to put answers in the chat.
Finally we took part in a Kahoot general knowledge quiz results from last weeks quiz we’re in with Dan the man in first and fuzzy-moocow24 second. Gj all.
So NO face to face scouting yet but we are working on getting back together asap. So zoom again tonight and showing off our bird water feeders from our weekly challenge followed by The Countryside Code and Kahoot quiz on same. We couldn’t get the Who Wants to be a Millionaire quiz due to tech problems but spoke about next week.
This weeks homework (weekly challenge) was to build a simple Morse code device using sound or light to deliver a message which the troop then worked out the phrase or saying.
Lots of different designs including the human voice!
We then challenged our knowledge with a Kahoot quiz. In the second 40 minutes we ran a riddle scavenger hunt around the homes.
It was good to see everyone and we had a lot of fun.
