Tonight each patrol had to cook a two course meal from a different country from around the world. Hawks - Sweden with meatballs and pancakes and berry sauce Falcons - Spain with stew and a type of pancake dessert Merlins - India with curry and coconut ice cream Kestrels - Poland with cabbage wraps and caramel wafers. Eagles - Mexico with tacos and fritters All the PL’s bought the ingredients and managed their patrols to create their menus. Then everyone had to eat their meal and then clear up. This weekend was set as a Patrol Leaders and Assistant Patrol Leaders weekend camp nearby in Brockmead Camp, Easter Compton. After arriving early the scouts set the site and put up their tents. Pioneering project before lunch where they made sandwiches, had fruit, crisps and of course CAKE! Afternoon of camp gadgets and penknife licence renewal. Then fire lighting and cooking on alter fires (fajitas and orange chocolate cakes). Campfire then sardines Widegame. Hot chocolate, biscuits and Cake! Then bed. The Sunday was forecast as rain all day but it was so light we had time for a full cooked English breakfast before another Widegame Manhunt. Kit packed, tents down and packed away finally flag down with badge presentation and home. Great camp lots achieved ty for all working hard and to the leaders for all their hard work. Kathryn passed her nights away permit. |
