OSR Scouts joined by a friend for tonight’s zoom session. We tried our hand again at modelling but this time with some professional help and instruction. Two 40 minute sessions and our models were done. Some went a bit off script but that’s the artistic licence. Great job all and big ty to our helper. We didn’t get time to try out the weekly challenge egg drop but will try next week. The weekly challenge this week was to make a tin can lantern. Then tonight after showing and talking about them the scouts made Armpit Fudge which tasted disgusting! Everyone took it in turns to build the tallest playing card tower and finished off with a Kahoot fruit quiz. Not many on this evening due to holidays and families making trips and visits. Tonight’s Zoom session was all about plasticine model making and without the man himself we used a utube video of how to make a Morph. The scouts had been shopping and bought all the equipment they needed, terracotta or stone modelling clay with a little white and black for the eyes plus a wooden cocktail stick for the details. We played the video in small sections and then went to work with the clay. Answering questions and solving problems along the way. Lots of laughter and sharing of each other’s efforts. I’ll send them to the experts to see what they think. Great job all and what a chuckle. Plus we debriefed fruits and berries found around neighbourhoods. Lots of apples, pears, plums and blackberries plus slow berries, black currants, red berries and tomatoes. This week the OSR Scouts had a lesson from Kathryn on hand care including manicure and nail painting plus other beauty techniques we had filling and info re washing etc. Great job everyone learnt something even some of the adults that were on the zoom. Plus we had a look at the results of the weekly challenge to make toilet roll superhero’s or villains. The scouts has to guess who was who. We had a Kahoot superhero’s quiz and a general catch up. |
