So this year we at OSR scouts are tackling the Poppy badge again after becoming the first troop to achieve the badge in 2014 when it was introduced by Gloucestershire county scouts.
Tonight we had a visit from Brian and John from the Royal British Legion who treated us to factual information about WW2, why we wear poppies and the use of animals during the war. The scouts were also given information about the 5 servicemen from Stoke Gifford that gave their lives during WW2 and are remembered on the senitaff and told to research one of the brave men for a presentation later in the term.
As in the last few years we are going to support the RBL with their Poppy day launch and collecting money at Sainsbury's. All those scouts that complete the requirements will be presented with this special badge.
