Adam a police dog handler came into OSRs to explain to the scouts what he does in the police service and introduced his 2 dogs, the first Benji who is trained to find items that people don’t want to be found like drugs and the second Scooter is trained to control public order situations and track down people that have run away from a crime scene or vehicle. Adam had his Labrador perform a property search exercise and explained about the training that the dogs go through etc. Then he brought in his Belgium Shepard which he showed how obedient he is and then explained how he is trained and also what Adams role is. Big thank you to Adam, Benji and Scooter for coming into the scout troop and sharing with the troop. It is important that the scouts learn about local services and this counts towards the World Challenge Award - Discovery. Comments are closed.
