Today during half term break a team of Old School Rooms scouts in Stoke Gifford spent the day litter picking around the parks and connecting streets in the village.
We started off in the park at the Trust Hall and the weather was a bit on the hot side but with a full bag tied up and left by the bins the group moved back down past the osr to the rear lane behind the royal estate and collected lots of litter by the garage areas. We stopped in 40 acres for some lunch and left a broke plastic chair and another full bag tied up by the bin next to the bridge. Then the light rain started which was warm and didn’t seem to do much except turn the warm temperature a bit muggy.
The scouts continued in to Meade park and after having a few minutes on the fort and other play equipment we cracked on and circled the park and up the side streets back to the osr where we finished. Lots of laughing and great to see the scouts enjoying the outdoors in all our green spaces getting plenty of exercise whilst supporting the community keeping Stoke Gifford tidy. Gj all 3 full bags collected today.
