Middle of the half term holidays and the old school rooms troop braved the cold wind and rain to travel around the three parks in Stoke Gifford litter picking. The 20 plus scouts met outside the osr and were issued pickers, hoops, bags and gloves plus a squirt of alcohol gel then we were met by Councillor Brian Allinson who gave the scouts a pep talk and after a quick team photo we were off up to the Trust hall park. Two full sacks of rubbish were collected from that location and left by the bins. We all then walked through Ratcliffe drive and into Meade Park in the rain. One full sack was left by the car park bins from this location and just as we started lunch the heavens opened again so we gathered our equipment and headed to the final park at 40 Acres. One full sack from this park and then back to OSR again in the rain which was heavy and freezing cold. The scouts did a fab job today and considering the conditions were all enjoying the session giving back to the community in which we all live. Comments are closed.
