Well what can we say about this event, I guess first of all a Big Thank You to all the leaders and helpers that made it possible for a start. Secondly, we must be doing something right because we dodged all the wet weather and even I got a suntan driving the emergency backup car. LOL The scouts met at Woodhouse Park and six hours later arrived in Oldbury-on-Severn, we had dinner and then to the camp site to put up the tents (It was by now 22.35hours)! We all eventually got to sleep with aching feet, legs and shoulders but spirits were high. The next morning we woke at 7am and had packed away everything in time for what I can only describe as the most sophisticated of expedition breakfasts, Janet did us proud with a full English and then some! Ty. The scouts grabbed their packed lunches and were off. The second day was easier as they only had to walk the 10 miles to Berkeley power station. We were all finished by 13.27hours and homeward bound. Well Done to all the scouts, 22 miles is no mean feat and no one dropped out. Comments are closed.
